  • In the beggining of the chapter what seems to be rembering when she was a volunteer in Saigon year 1968 but she was in Arlington Hospital 1978 ten years later.
  • The Saigon Hospital brought back bad memories for her and she felt an hurried chill in joints , and a slowing moving red that smoalldered in a floating ether of dull, gray smoke.
  • Tears were brought to her eyes as she rembered a scattering of gun shots that tore though the plaster walls.
  • The American Flag, floqing sky high from a sturdy iron pole, that snapped in the wind and that is what let the character that know that they were in Arlington Hospital.
  • The Characters mother had been in the Hospital, she has avoided looking at her mothers face because it was burned from a kitchen fire five years ago

  • This is the shortest chapter of the book because we are close to the ending

  • I don't think the author closed the story right but it was still intresting

  • Johannes ges in trouble because an elder motioned to him for the music to stop

  • Now there were strange things going on Christians were killing Jews and accusing them of bringing the pestilence.

  • This is the most intresting chapter yet

  • At the beggining of Chapter 13 Johannes has a strange dream he dram of people spinning round and round in a large room.
  • In his dream he tried to reach out to them but him touching them was forbidden.

  • In this chapter his grandmother was scared that they were going to get expelled from the society.
  • In chapter 14 Johannes approches his father and tell him that he wants to marry Marigate

  • His fathers reaction wasn't the best he said " Since when do young people make such decision for themselves"?

  • In this chapter Johannes and his friend David would take time to go to Cathedral Square, and they would watch plays be performed.

  • In this chapter Johannes gets a complement from a girl and he doesn't know how to take it because he thought she was beutiful and an actor so he thought she could do better

  • He sweats and becomes very nervous when he is around her but he talked to his grandfather and he gave him some advice

  • Johannes had said something that I didn't understand he said "that justice had been done, and everone has given to many feelings"

  • In these chapters he seems to be confused about his life.
